Indications for Kidney Replacement Therapy Along the Continuum: CKRT to IHD

Description

Kidney Replacement Therapy (KRT) in the critical setting is a lifesaving, life-prolonging therapy meant to replace the function of the native kidney when it comes to fluid and electrolyte removal. Treatment options range from continuous to intermittent, giving the bedside practitioner flexibility in choosing the best option to meet  the patient’s needs. There are many factors that influence selection of the most  appropriate kidney replacement therapy, whether patients are hemodynamically stable or unstable.

Join Dr. Charuhas Thakar as he completes a case study review outlining indications for KRT options along the continuum of care including:

  • Continuous Kidney Replacement Therapy (CKRT)

  • Prolonged Intermittent Kidney Replacement therapy (PIKRT)

  •  Intermittent Hemodialysis (IHD)
