CKRT in the Critical and Acute Care Settings: Overview Part 1

The third module in our Critical Care series is designed for healthcare professionals interested in critical care education.

Description

This replay of a recorded educational module provides an in-depth exploration of Continuous Kidney Replacement Therapy (CKRT). Presented by Dr. Roger Rodby, Professor of Medicine Division of Nephrology Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL, the module provides:

  • a comprehensive review of the historical development of CKRT, tracing its evolution from early techniques to modern advancements
  • a review of the various clearance modalities used in CKRT, such as continuous venovenous hemofiltration (CVVH), continuous venovenous hemodialysis (CVVHD), and continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF).

By comparing and contrasting these modalities, the module aims to enhance understanding of their clinical applications, advantages, and limitations, ultimately equipping them with the knowledge to make informed decisions in patient care. Included in the presentation will be interactive polling questions and a chance to engage with critical care experts during a live Q&A session.
