Anticoagulation in Continuous Kidney Replacement Therapy (CKRT): Part 1

The ninth module in our Critical Care series is designed for healthcare professionals interested in critical care education.

Description

This replay of a recorded advanced module, led by Dr Christopher Hebert, Assistant Professor of Medicine and Nephrology Baylor Scott and White Health, Baylor University Medical Center Dallas, TX, offers an in-depth exploration of filter clotting issues in Kidney Replacement Therapy (KRT).

This module provides:

  • a detailed review of the indications for filter clotting, helping critical care clinicians identify and address the underlying causes
  •  an examination of the anatomy of filter and circuit clotting, offering insights into how these issues impact KRT efficacy and patient outcomes
  • an overview of various anticoagulation choices and practical strategies for managing anticoagulation in KRT settings

By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications, this module aims to enhance critical care clinicians’ ability to prevent and manage filter clotting, optimizing KRT performance and improving patient care. Included in the presentation will be interactive polling questions and a chance to engage with critical care experts during a live Q&A session.
