AREP Strategies to Understand and Overcome Health Inequity and Bias in Kidney Care

Inequity and bias occur at both the interpersonal and institutional level of  healthcare and can lead to inaccurate or delayed diagnoses, poorer quality  care, and worse outcomes. This special roundtable webinar will review current trends and disparities in access to kidney care and dialysis, examine the impact of using race in estimating glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) equations, and will feature a discussion on strategies to overcome bias and advance kidney health equity. Physician, social worker, and patient perspectives will be included, with speakers discussing their experiences and practical approaches.

The American Medical Association has determined that physicians not licensed in the US who participate in this CME activity are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.

ACCME/AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM carry reciprocity with EACCME member countries and most international licensing bodies for physicians, with some exceptions. Physicians should check with their country/board for eligibility.
